My story is the exact opposite. When I installed Nokia Messaging on my 5800 .. I was very happy. HTML support and everything. After about a month I of usage .. Nokia Messaging refuses to sync with my email account. It constantly shows the offline mode - whether connected to Wifi or TMobile does not matter. I have since returned to MFE. I do check whether messaging works now and then - and it never does. Sad.

Erm.......open Nokia Messaging, choose 'Gmail' at the setup, and enter your username/password. It really is that easy.

The ability to sync with Gmail and Gcalendar is also important for me. I use an N85. I disappointed also with NM but have found Googasync to do a good job of two way synchronization of my 3 Google calendars. <br>What happened to the nice Messager interface?<br>NMessaging doesn't allow me to receive emails via any network (I'm in France on SFR's Illimythic unlimited data package) other than my home/office WiFi. However, the Gmail java application works when I'm travelling although I'm not sure which network it's using (it just works so I haven't checked).<br>The Gmail java app, also pushes mail to my phone and signals arrival with a discrete buzz. The downside with it is that it is not integrated into the phones communication apps and so saying "John Smith email" pulls up an NMessaging mail proforma which cannot be sent unless I'm in the office. And let's be honest, if I'm in the office I'll use the office computer keyboard, much faster.<br>After my first phone from Ericsson I've always used Nokia but I'm looking with interest at the new generation of Android phones (Google's Nexus and HTC's latest). In my opinion the Nokia N85 is a very solid device but it is let down by the firmware/software.

Gcalendar sync doesnt work on Nokia E72. Only mail. So at the current state - Nokia messaging is pracitally useless for me. I need a phone that can sync both Gmail and Gcalendar. My N82 and my E71 did it, I have come to expect more from Nokia. It may be a problem also somewhat depending on Google, but this does not mean that it isnt Nokias responsibility to make it work. My phone must sync both my Gmail and my Cgalender, period. I love Nokia, but this syncing issue is not a problem I can overlook, syncing of calendar and gmail is a must-have and if it isnt fixed Im said to say I must change my phone.

installed in my e66 a few weeks ago, seems to be working fine. my blackberry carrying buddies laugh. it seems to work fine unless there's something other than getting my emails so i can read, reply and download attachments. that's enough to keep me happy. one million times better than phone's native email app.; when they start charging for push, i'll decide if i want it, since i already pay tmo for the internet plan. btw, tmobile 3g; should i have gotten the euro version of the e66??

I tried NM on a Samsung Innov8 and it worked fine. But it is still a bit immature compared to RIM's BIS in terms of features and integration with the handset. However S60 devices seem to have better power management than BlackBerries - no matter what I do, my Storm won't last more than 20 hours or so, while my Innov8 can easily withstand 2 days of heavy usage. I guess NM needs to be movable to the mass storage and it would be a very welcome app for any S60 device.

NM worked very well for me since days it was in Betalabs as Nokia Email, over the time it has improved by leaps and bounds, Mail delivery is super fast, HTML view is nice, settings are good enough. I have few issues or wishlists.
- Need to have option where to install , It eats up Phone Memory so fast !!!
- Need to have same client for all devices, may be firmware update can do
- Better integration with other phone features, like it doesn't come in send to option everywhere.

I finally gave NM another try today.
Well, it seems to sync way better than before, but there's still a major drawback for me: what the hell is that 3 lines email status plugin ??
I don't want it to always show me the last 3 mails, that's a useless way to fill my screen, I just want to be notified if there's something to be notified about ! Just like the S60 legacy email app: if I set the email notification to "header and popup" I get a new mail notification with the header poping up if highlighted, and the notification goes away if the mail is marked as read: simple but efficient (computer style) notification system.
And in fact I don't want anybody looking over my shoulder to be able to read my (marked as read) emails headers right from the homescreen, that's simply nonsense to me.

NM on the E71 is officially not good for me in its present state.
Going back to S60 legacy email app.
