The Nokia N97 mini which improves one of the N97’s biggest issues regarding internal memory, is launching soon. I certainly think this is a good thing, and apparently Nokia agrees as they have launched “Good Things” to promote this.
This new service involves OVI Maps with the “good things” being a database of user generated content where you can share your P.O.I (Point of interests) with the world. The current campaign in the United Kingdom involves a huge signpost in London that shows the latest shared POI, as well as a competition where users can vote for their town to win a gig with Alexandra Burke, the winner of last years X Factor in the UK. The winners are counted as a ratio of votes over town population, so even the smallest towns have a chance to win. Currently, Stirling seems to be the number one favorite followed by Blackpool.
Do you live in the UK? If so, are you excited about this chance to share your beloved places with everyone, and to win a gig in your town? If you live elsewhere, what do you think of this Good Things campaign, and would you like it if it was also launched in your country?
