Do you still have the protective film on the display? It's supposed to be glass so I'm curious as to whether the “feel” is improved over the plastic covers of resistive screens.

After watching it, it's wierd you say it's for people who want N97 but doesn't care about qwerty. It's nothing like it :/

No, there wasn't a plastic film over the screen, as far as i remember.

Well the homescreen is different, but still efficient, and there's the 5MP camera and the 32GB of memory for those who didn't like the 5800XM.

It’s unfortunate to hear that the materials of the phone are only up to XpressMusic standards, but at least the display is a step forward. There are some people who like the ability to use a stylus or finger nail on resistive dislays, but I think most would agree that capacitive technology provides a more fluid user experience overall. Beyond the obvious performance advantages, one of the main reasons I chose the i8910 over the N97 was because of diplay technology and materials. A capacitive digitizer like that on the i8910 or the X6 can be built with rigid materials, such as tempered glass. Glass not only looks classy compared to plastic, it is far harder, and therefore more scratch resistant. Yesterday I dropped my i8910 for only the third time ever. It landed face-down on a dirty marble floor. While the plastic housing had a tiny mark on it, the glass was still spotless. Had I dropped a 5800 or N97 face-down, the display would almost certainly be scratched, and I would be in a far worse mood :)

Well it looks like Nokia is using the X6 to test it’s capacitive screen technology. Just like they did with the 5800 for touch screen in general.

Looks good on the spec sheet, but the software isn’t still up to it with laggy transitions, kinetic scrolling (this disturbs me!), phonebook taking ages to load images and N70-ish menu. The software seems to be 99% equal to the 5800XM, which makes me not regret buying an iPhone 3GS (it’s the software, stupid…)

I’m desperately wanting to update to a 5th edition touch phone, but it still looks half-baked, judging from this video. What’s with gallery? Touch it twice, three times, flick it as many… There’s just nothing like a screen staring back at you with zero comprehension. Nokia really needs to devote itself to improving software. I love my E71 but I wouldn’t recommend it anyone who has a lot of pictures and music. Fix that, then you can worry about kinetic scrolling and social networking.

Yes, I will use the features the video demonstrated but I need to see the basic functions a phone for this phone: the dialer, message sending, and email. The most important feature on a future Nokia is the dialer.

I bought a 5800, I do not regret it one bit, but the next time around I need to see more information.

-Will the x6 have the same dailer the 5800 sports? Will that dialer be ALPHAnumeric or simply numeric? There are many times where I have to have another phone to see a alphanumeric pad.
