their closed beta wasnt really closed, you just had to send a email and ask to be included ;)
I was in one of the first groups and its quite awesome now.
Olive tree’s bible reader was my favorite software on my palm days and im glad its working now on S60 5th!

  • Jaclu

I cant but wonder who would be the target group for such an app. At least in my experience the demographics for people focusing on actual quotes of a holy book, and technophiles trying out new apps on their smartphone dont overlap.

Not that Im critizing neither the app nor the desire to use such an app, it’s just that I never met anybody both into bible-studies and techno gadgets.

I also see loads of quaran(eng sp?) reader apps, I always thought both theese app categories where mostly just for the guy(s) writing them, and not very marketable. But I could be wrong.

Anybody out there who actually use “holy book reader” apps, or knows anybody else using them? Honestly just qurious, I am _not_ trying to insult anybody!

Well I’m 32, a copper, a Christian, and into technology. For me to be able to use my N86 to study the bible will be invaluable. I’m not alone either.
    Best wishes

    Hi Jaclu,

I am one of those who mixes techno and Christianity and there are a lot of us it seems. Check out talk.maemo.com, you will find that one of the most active threads is that about that of working on a Bible reader for the upcoming N900. Its already in the works. Excuse me while I download this beta now.

Have a good day and be ye blessed :o)

Jaclu, I have to agree with the others above, I write here so I’m probably more into tech than the average techie, but I’m also a Christian and very interested in olive tree’s software. Don’t judge people based on stereotypes.

  • Jaclu

@Dotsix – not meant as judging people, just that in my experience I havent found any overlap to speak of, could be since I live in Sweden, wich is about as a non-religious focused culture as you can find. There are of course religious people here, but most people just cant understand why anybody would bother, and since its sort of strange to openly be an active religious person, most people that are, wouldnt mention it in public, not that they would not be proud of it, but all the strange looks makes it just not worth the hassle. It’s like discussing politics in a dinner party – not prohibited in any way, but would just create an embarrasing silence and rapid change of topic. My father is a clergy man, so I had my share of that stuff, personaly I just wasnt into it.

Anyhow, since it seems to be an interest out there for theese kinda apps, so I can only salute Olive Tree for delivering products that are needed.

And I thank all three of you for broadening my perspective of what other Nokistas find interesting ;)
