Indeed pricing products too high will lead to finding the same products other places. It is however understandable that developers want to earn some money and I guess also that Handango as a middleman charges a little as well.

Merging them into one single application wasn't that bad of an idea and pricing them lower is certainly the way to go. Perhaps not as "low" as $5 but somewhere between $5 and $10 seems reasonable.

As far as applications purchased or downloaded from the OVI Store you could choose to send it by SMS (which has a limit of 20 SMS pr. day). You'll then receive a link to the download which comes in the .dcf file format (<a href="http://www.fileinfo.com/extension/dcf" rel="nofollow">DRM Content File Format</a>) and you can usually find the file under C:\System\dmgr directory. That way you'll have a backup of these files. To install these files with Smart Installer or similar applications mentioned in the post you try to change the file extention to .sis or .sisx
I haven't bought any applications from the OVI Store myself so I don't know if this works for purchased applications, but I do know that free applications downloaded via SMS from the OVI Store can be installed in a batch this way.

I agree with SmartphoneHelp.be on the pricing but I would also suggest that the two apps should be re-developed into a single app for $5. IMHO this would certainly greatly increase the potential number of purchasers.

As a N97 owner I would also suggest that the SmartInstaller app would be very useful for the frequent number of times you have to hard reset your device, making it much quicker to have the phone back up and running with all of your apps (of course except for ones purchased from the Ovi Store).

Without a doubt these are useful applications. Particularly for power users. But the price is far too steep for normal users. By pricing such products at such prices, the developers are chasing their potential customers towards cracked software sites. A price tag of around 5 dollars would mean lots more of sales and therefor higher turnover.
