    That’s what I like about Symbian-Guru!
    You guys always the first one to bring really interesting news.
    In short. Downloaded, installed and got it running in 5 min!
    Got access to W2008 computer in my office and to my XP Pro at home.
    Neat! Works like a charm. I think it is the best soft on my N97.
    Virtual keyboard is really useful, I like it a lot.
    Thanks for the hint about Telexy Network Commander, it looks like a killer bundle indeed!
    Will play with it tomorrow.
    Thanks again. You are the best!

    One more quick comment for others who may try this soft.
    During install on my N97 I’ve got a message like Software not compatible with phone and a few messages saying about Component is missing. Selecting Continue lead me farther to another similar messages, but at the end installation was successful. The software is working fine with default RDP port and so far I cannot figure out if it is possible to change it.

    Tomorrow I will show this soft to my network admin in the office, I’ll bet he will be looking for hammer for his IPhone. :)))

    How does this part compare with OVI Files, with other advantage of 10GB of free web storage?

  • wampyre

    @Rick T.

    Brilliant. Telexy have always been good at making their applications and hearing that it works great is nice. I do wonder a bit about compatibility with other operating systems, though I assume compatibility with Macs are given.

    @mbrett

    For one, this application is not meant to share your files online as OVI Files are. While you do connect to OVI files to gain access to files you don’t have access to the whole computer. That is on OVI files you have access to folders on your computer that you share.

    With this application you can connect wirelessly to you home computer or office computer and e.g. work on the computer as if you were in front of it. Open the webbrowser, open a office document, open music etc.
    It’s not that full fledged as using remote desktop from another computer as the screen is smaller, but it’s basically the same.

    To be honest I have only tried OVI Files a couple of times and that was during it’s initial launch and it never quite worked 100% for me.

    It’s great but it scales every window on PC to make it fit on N97′s screen and doesn’t revert back when I end remote connection :/ Really annoying.

  • votano

    Why would I need OVI if with SymRDP I will have full access to all files on my computer? Ovi is just for kids downloading ringtones and things like that.
    Last time I visited OVI to find out that there are no real software for N97 at all. Just a few items comparing to hundreds on Handango.

    Anyway SymRDP is awesome! The best software ever!

    To Krisq.
    Change resolution in configuration and all will be just fine.
