Our friends over at AllAboutSymbian have posted the awesome news that emTube, a favorite YouTube (and other online video) application for Symbian-powered smartphones has resurfaced at SEE 09, albeit with a new name. Now called Open Video Hub, emTube is being relaunched with support for multiple video services, as well as an extensible architecture with the ability to upload videos.
Also, the source code for the application, as well as for the various plugins that were already developed, have been made public, which is awesome. There is an SDK available for 3rd party developers, too, so you can build your own plugins easily. For end users, the application supports auto-rotation for video, local download for offline playback, and more. You can get more information at www.openvideohub.com.
NOTE: Open Video Hub is currently available unsigned, though you can use our handy walkthrough to quickly and easily get a certificate to sign the application for your own device. It *should* be supported by Open Signed, but commenters at AAS are reporting issues there.
