Give Thanks With A Free 16GB Sandisk MicroSD Card

thanksgivingToday in the United States, we’re celebrating Thanksgiving Day. It started when the colonists came over from Europe, met the Native Americans at Plymouth Rock, and got together for a feast and to give thanks, and we still celebrate it today. Honestly, it’s my favorite holiday of the entire year, as it marks the beginning of when it’s OK to start celebrating Christmas, with holiday music and massive amounts of awesome food.

Since it also happens to be the day before our birthday here at Symbian-Guru, it’s extra-special for us, as well. To help celebrate, our friends at Sandisk have given us a 16GB microSD card with adapters to give away to those we’re most thankful for – you, our readers. This one is simple – leave a comment letting us know what you’re the most thankful for. It doesn’t have to be mobile-related at all, just let us know what you’re thankful for.

You need to be quick on this one – contest is closed at midnight CST tonight (Thursday, Nov 27). Simply leave a comment and let us know. The winner will be randomly chosen and we’ll ship your new memory card right out.

TheGuru: I’m thankful for my friends and family. I have some of the coolest family ever, and along the ride of my life, I’ve had the pleasure of making quite a few friends, and I’m extremely thankful for them.

Dotsisx: I’m thankful for the experience of living one year away in France, the people I’ve met and the things I’ve learned, but most importantly I’m thankful for being back home now and knowing more than ever that this is where I belong.

    I'm thankful for good health and the well-being of those close to me. Even if not always perfect - we're walking, laughing and talking, and hopefully eating well this weekend.     Thanks a lot for the reviews on Nokia devices including my stolen and beloved n96. I really learnt lot from the Bluetooth headset reviews and phone reviews as well. At the moment I'm not using a phone till the police tracks down the thief.

    I'm thankful for the neurosurgeons, doctors and nurses who saved my mum's life and nursed her back to (relative) health for 6 months after a severe brain haemorrhage in May. I'm thankful to the therapists in rehab who helped her develop coping mechanisms for dealing with her partial paralysis, and to the carers who now visit 4 times per day to help her. I'm grateful for the (UK) NHS and Social Services, so that we'd never had to worry about how much all this would cost. And most of all I'm grateful to my mum for keeping her sense of humour despite severe disability, and to my dad and my sister, my partner and my employer, and all mum's friends for supporting her and me through the last 6 months and forwards into the future.

    I'm thankful for mobile phones and the internet for helping me to keep everybody concerned up to date with her progress and to co-ordinate visitors.
