Forum Nokia have a new webinar you can sign up to entitled “Mobile Internet Battery Life: Challenges and Solutions”. The webinar is dated at December 16th.
As we all know our Symbian-powered handsets are pushing the limits of the different tasks they can do and battery life is one of the areas where the development has been less visible. One of the trends these days are widget based applications running on e.g. the N97 siblings that constantly pull data through an internet connection.
Description from the Forum Nokia website is quite brief, only mentioning that this is a problem. However it is also stated that practical examples will be presented. One of the solutions I can think of is to have a power saving function when the connection is idle as found on Gravity. The level of the webinar is said to be intermediate, which means that some knowledge regarding development is required.
Sign ups for Mobile Internet Battery Life can be down from the Forum Nokia Website. If you’re going to attend this webinar, please do give us your feedback after it’s done, regarding the new developments in battery technology.
