Actually the E52 (and E55) also have active noise cancellation so it's not much of a novelty on the 6720, but it's worth being mentioned, thanks for pointing it out :)

Major feature of the 6720 (and a s60 first) is the active noise cancellation. It has mics placed strategically around the device to capture ambient noises to filter it out.

You should have tested the voice quality in noisy environments, comparing it with other standard s60 devices...

To answer your question: it fills a low end gap in carriers portfolios - an incredible number of people just want something very cheap, and this is it if they also want a good camera and smartphone functionality (even if they may not know what that means or will ever use it :) ).

Dull but so are most things in life. :D

You are right about me reviewing this phone. As I said, it's almost perfect, and I would recommend it in a heartbeat, but *I* found it forgettable. Still, regarding your point about it being unique, I think that for the price now, the N79 is a much better bet, it's the same form factor, yet it has more multimedia features, WiFi and all.

I think it would be best if Nokia will let this phone be tested by people who were not very much verse with S60 not like all of you guys, I'm sure they will have a different perspective on it and besides this is not marketed for old Nokia high end users but for people who were currently using low end and mid range phones that were eying for upgrades. The beauty behind this device is that it will be among the very first mid range phone to have a 600Mhz processor with FP2, N-Gage, Maps with A-GPS, a unique back cover design with flash circling the camera, comfortable T9 pad and an HSDPA 3G. There is nothing like it in the market, it one of a kind! c",
