Nokia has announced this morning that the E72, its followup to the successful E71, is now available in stores. This QWERTY-equippped non-touchscreen smartphone is powered by S60 3rd Edition, Feature Pack 2, and includes built-in WiFi, as well as a 5 megapixel autofocus camera with a single-LED flash. The E72 also sports an optical d-pad, the first on a Nokia device, which should make navigating through its menus quite a bit easier.
The Nokia E72 also comes with Nokia Messaging fully integrated into the firmware, with support for several instant messaging services, such as Windows Live, Gtalk, and Ovi Chat. The Nokia E72 was announced back in June, and was originally expected to launch in Q3 2009.
North American readers can pre-order the Nokia E72 from Amazon for $469 with free shipping. Nokia did not specify which stores have the E72 in stock, so be sure to chime in on the comments below if you’ve seen it in a store near you!
