Hey and thanks for writing this blog. Being an audio engineer and professional musician, I can't agree more about the ear piece. I am pushing it in to no avail, which I think voids it being hands free. I was told at the Verizon store that there were “in ear” replacements/accessories for this model. I am beginning to think I was lied to. Not sure which is more sad: being lied to by a phone salesperson or being surprised that I was lied to by a phone salesperson. Many thanks, Jake

If this is anything like the 510, it would have awesome noise canceling and wind smart capabilities. I know the 510 was the only headset sold at truck stops and the only one truck drivers would use.

I had the 510 and liked it, although that one had adjustable ear gels, I am not sure I like the one size fits all.

I remember my Plantronics Voyager 855. Best headset EVER. Had a unique one ear – two year mechanism. And Plantronics sure loves extendable mic's.

Great review Ricky! Right on the money. I have used nothing but Plantronics headsets (mostly with Nokias) for over three years now. It's really the only brand I consistently recommend to my customers for overall quality and comfort. I'm more partial to their Discovery line though. They tend to be a bit more stylish and typically both half the size and half the weight of their Voyager counterparts. It is interesting that for the first time Plantronics is marketing two headests, the Voyager Pro and the Discovery 975, as flagship models. Voyager has always been their platform for WindSmart, and marketed as a more affordable high-value brand. At the same time, Discovery has always been the high-end platform for showing of the latest advances in digital signal processing, and later on, their AudioIQ branding. With the Voyager Pro, Plantronics took what was arguably a mid-range brand and integrated both their most advanced DSP and WindSmart. It is akin to Nokia releasing a flagship E-Series device and integrating their most advanced multimedia features. I suppose that explains why for the first time, Plantronics gave the Voyager “Pro” a prominent name rather that a model number. They really want it to stand out from the pack, and it does.

Glad to see the new site features are up and running. I was sad to see Disqus go after only a day or two before. The flash based news slide on the home screen is nice, and works well on the S60 browser.
