A while back, we noticed that Nokia and Netflix were working together, both with a widget for Symbian-powered touchscreen phones and with a mailer ad attached to my Netflix DVD. Today, the duo has taken a step further, adding a new version of the Netflix widget to the Ovi Store and launching a contest, as well!
The new widget officially supports the E71x and the upcoming E72, though it should work fine on any S60v3 FP2 device. With the widget you can login to your Netflix account, check out new movies, and even watch trailers, in some cases. You can also manage your queue, including adding new movies and rearranging existing ones. To help promote this updated widget, Nokia and Netflix have put together a contest where you can win the ultimate home/mobile entertainment package! You can enter at http://www.ovi.com/netflix to win a 12-month Netflix subscription, 42-inch TV, surround sound system, Xbox 360, Nokia N97 Mini, and Nokia Booklet 3G!
From the site you can get direct download links for the latest version of the Netflix widget for your Nokia 5800, N97, N97 Mini, E71x, or E72, as well. The only thing we need now is the ability to digitally rent a movie from Netflix and watch it on our Symbian-poweredc smartphones. I’m sure that’s coming soon, too.
