the latest ovi store version changes the default 9and only?) payment option (at least for USA AT&T users) to MOBILE BILLING.

prior to this version, i used a credit card for all purchases. updating to this, i got billed to my at&t phone bill.

personally, i dont like this change. i dont want my payments going through at&t. i prefer to see them as separate charges on my credit card statement so i can more easily track them. i want my mobile operator to be just a dumb pipe.

    oh well, que sera sera.

    Thanks for the heads up!

OVI store – there is at least one major sanity fix, and also one that I reported to them a while back – me think they listen!

Anyhow if you go to your installed apps “Mina saker” in swedish, would guess “My stuff” in english, this new version only shows one instance of each installed app, sorted by latest install date.

Previously each install was logged, I found this when having problems and reflashing my N97 three times in one day. Afterwards I had four icons for all the reinstalled apps, several of them grouped together. Just didnt make sense.

The search feature is still less than impressive, but at least they take feedback, and are slowly getting their act together. So everybody, please send them your feedback – they listen!

Next wish is a feedback in-system. I had to contact their national support phone line to find somebody that would accept to take a bug report and forward it to whoever is in charge for OVI.

Of course most probably many others reported the same thing, but that regardless, it certainly gives a warm fuzzy feeling when you get the impression that feed-back matters…

Yes , The OVI Store now brings in operator billing which may or may not be good for you depending on your needs. It can be a godsend for those without a credit card though.

The Ovi store should be taken to court for NOT GUARANTEEING backup of payments. If anything goes wrong after you have paid for and installed an app you will NEVER GET YOUR MONEY BACK unless you take legal proceedings! I installed Ultimate SMS which became corrupted after an E71 firmware update. I installed again from my own copy but could not activate it because Ovi never sent me an activation code – only the activated app which you directly download from the store and which you cannot store or backup for future use. After providing all details of purchase to Ovi support they did not even get back to me!

I still can not update my N97 to V2.0. Can somebody, anybody help me please!

It is indeed true what you've observed.
I too saw this and the first way they fixed this was if you used the webpage,
    (with your mobile web browser)
you could manually delete the items in the list.
I believe you can still do this and this solves the problem in one part.

I find the application still buggy as being when I want to browse for only
free applications I get thrown with the complete list when I hit the back key.
Same if I choose to browse for only paid applications.
