This morning, obviously full of holiday spirit, Nokia saw fit to release new firmware updates for two of its older phones, the Nokia N95 and the Nokia N82! There isn’t an official changelog as of yet, though I would imagine you’ll find several new Ovi services preinstalled, if other new firmware updates are anything to go on.
The Nokia N95 firmware is apparently available for at least one product code of every model, including the venerable Nokia N95-3! The update, v35, is obviously only available through Nokia’s Software Update application. The N82 firmware update is also v35 and hopefully updates the camera application a bit, as well.
Keep in mind that neither the Nokia N82 nor the N95 have UDP (User Data Preservation) and thus will be reset when you update the firmware. Make sure you backup any critical information before you apply the new firmware update.
If you update your firmware and notice any differences, please leave them in the comments here. Also, if you are able to get the update, make sure to let us know which product code you used.

Update: Thanks for everyone who chimed in to correct me – the N82 does indeed have UDP. Post corrected.

Heya Ricky ! The N82 has UDP :) It was the First Nseries to come with it as a feature. So the firmware update wont erase anything on the N82 etc etc
How does n82 not have UDP? I've updated my phone 3 times and never lost any data.
N82 has UDP
[edit: i came late to the party it seems]
huh. i thought the N82 had UDP. i thought, in fact, that it was the very first nokia to ship with UDP.
My question is does this firmware for the N95-3 include everything that was in version 30 firmware for other areas? I don’t think so, otherwise people would be noticing differences? If it doesn’t have all that, this should really have a different firmware number for us. Maybe 25?
I just installed the update for my N82, but don't see anything new whatsoever.
I'm just waiting for the “Bout Time” editorial from Ricky ;)
Dust that NAM off and let (Nokia and) us have it :P
UDP debuted with feature pack 2, I guess? I have the N82 I have updated it 2-3 times. I did not lose any data the first 2 times, but the 3rd time, I lose all my data.
hey guys i have finally updated yesterday night … the upload of fw on phone to very quickly..
till today i have experience bit of battery improvement even after installation of all kinds of soft…
the fw is hackable ….
i have not found anyother changes…
finally still n82 rocks.. and expected to have further more corrections….
thanks nokia
I tryed to update my n95 but it said that i already had the latest version. howcomes? i updated it last time several months ago.
N82 runs FP1, not FP2. So does N95, but for some reason UDP only works on N82. (so it's not a feature of the OS version)
Thanks for correcting me pal.
