Nimbuzz is one of my favorite instant messaging clients for Symbian-powered devices for several reasons. For one, I get a Nimbuzz username and password, and all my accounts are stored there. That means, whenever I get a new phone, or reset an existing one, I only have to login once, rather than manually logging in to each instant messaging service. Second, they update their app constantly!
Today’s update to v2.2 is a rather big one, too, with homescreen notifications, full Twitter integration, and full kinetic scrolling for devices like the N97 and N97 Mini (a welcome update). Our own Dotsisx has been testing this new version, so we’ve got plenty of screenshots of the new features.
As you can see, the Nimbuzz team put quite a bit of work into this new version, and Dotsisx reports that they’ve also reduced the memory footprint, as the application only uses ~5MB of RAM when in use. I’ll be testing this new update on my Nokia N97 today, and will report back on that device shortly.
This new version should be loaded up in the Ovi Store and available through Nimbuzz.com on your phone’s browser.
What’s your favorite new Nimbuzz feature?
