You said: “I’ll be testing this new update on my Nokia N97 today, and will report back on that device shortly.”
I really doubt they updated the N97 version. It still shows the old version 2.01 at getnimbuzz.com and the ovi store hasn't gotten a new version either.

Even on my N97 I get 2.01 … should I install via OVI or direct from Nimbuzz?

Ok, tried again an now getting a new version 2.2 but server is very busy. I saw in all my RSS feeds and Twitter that all Symbian related bloggers mention this update so a lot of people will update at the moment.

    But for N97 now confirmed: v2.2 !

Nimbuzz is one of my favorite symbian programs I have installed on my E71. I mostly like the text chat functionality – as they seem to have a better interface than Fring for that. Another valuable function for me if the possibility to use a Voip account . I am not sure I like the Homescreen Notification feature trough

That is tehkseven’s Hero theme for S60. Very nice theme indeed.

You can disable it from Settings / Notifications / Chat Message / Popup. It's one feature that I personally have been begging them to add, because I sometimes forget I have Nimbuzz running in the background (since Symbian phones *can* multitask) and end up with a ton of “where are you?” and “why aren't you answering me?” messages from friends.

  • Mohit

    I installed it in my N97. It's v 2.2 rev 2246 – built for S60 5th Edition.
The home screen widget selection list does not give the option for Nimbuzz.
