Today at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, Nevada, AT&T finally launched support for Nokia’s Ovi Store – including carrier billing. AT&T customers using Nokia devices can now charge purchases made in the Ovi Store directly to their phone bill – eliminating the need to setup a credit card with Nokia separately.
The move is certainly welcome, though I’m unsure of how many people it will actually affect, given Nokia’s current status in the U.S. market, and on AT&T, specifically. However, with as much resources as AT&T likely had to invest to setup this support, hopefully we’ll see more Symbian-powered smartphones on the carrier soon.
I personally would love to see the Nokia N97 Mini, X6, or the E72 launched on AT&T, preferably with little-to-no branding. What do you think?
