If you haven’t heard of Dr. Jukka, you’ve either never used freeware applications on your Symbian-powered handset or been sleeping under a rock. Having developed applications such as Theme and Profile Scheduler and Keylock Clock, his applications covers a wide range of areas which might fit your taste.
New to his mix is Fake Calls, and as the name suggests it fakes incoming calls, which sometimes can be useful if you are visiting someone and want an excuse to leave. (Although this scenario has never happened to me).
Just as an ordinary incoming call the application will show up the contact’s number and the ringtone set in profile or for the particular contact. What’s neat is that you can assign shortkeys to activate a fake call immediately, very smart indeed and a great companion to his other application Fake Messages.
The application currently only works for handsets running the 5th Edition of Symbian and are known to have some minor bugs. The install file also needs to be Open Signed for it to work. You can also sign the application yourself by consulting our guide for signing unsigned applications.
Have you ever come across a situation where a fake call or a fake message has saved you?
