My only issue real issue with HipLogic is it's enforced load on the C: drive for N97 users. Does this mean that any added apps you install for it also only install on the C: drive. Who knows maybe v21 FW will change all this tomorrow and make the C: drive suddenly grow and make these issues go away. That would be nice.

Nice… Installing on my E71x right now..

Weird.. It says on m.hiplogic.com that my phone, an E71x is not supported.
Downloaded the installation via the pc website. Google chrome and Opera dont seem to be supported.

Hiplogic is a rather nice concept but it needs a lot of work. In just fifteen minutes of playing around with it I have found it to be way too frustrating and slow to use. This is not a resources issue. I rebooted after installing it and I have 175MB of free RAM. Yet still it is occasionally zippy, often slow, and sometimes it locks up for 10-15 seconds and you just need to wait.

My biggest complaint is anything that requires use of the onscreen keyboard. It already takes a while to load, but once you think it is ready to use and you start typing, you realize you just made a HUGE mistake. Half the time if you start typing letters on the alphanumeric keypad “too early,” they come up as numbers instead. A few times I have also had a button get “stuck” so that the phone kept typing a long string of 4's (when I thought I was typing G) and wouldn't stop until I quit the program. On the few occasions when the keypad worked perfectly and I hit the checkmark to close it, Hiplogic took a few extra seconds to load what I had written into the text box.

I realize that these issues are likely the result of a lack of testing for the i8910, as many S60 developers don't bother testing for anything but Nokia. That is understandable. I really wanted to like Hiplogic, but in its current incarnation I could not possibly use it.

I had the slow speed issue on the X6 too, so it's definitely not a processor or RAM thing, it's the app itself that needs a ton of time to load something. But I didn't have any of the keyboard problems, so it's probably what u said: i8910-related.
What I like abt it is the notifications system for Twitter/FB/RSS/other news apps, and the widgets system. It cld easily replace a good part of the UI if the speed/stability issues were fixed and multiple widgets supported.

Thanks for mentioning the enforced C install issue for the N97. I was liking the idea of this app until I read your comment – will give it a miss for the moment.

thanks for your comments and experiences. saw its potential too and was ready to go.. but i searched first several blogs on ppl who had experience installing it. was just too cautious about having it as i did a hard reset on my cp last weekend (home screen was screwing).. hope they fix this problem (i.e., memory issues, slow app as a whole)..

I just try it on 5800, and I noticed that my contact list is not displayed in full.
Apart from that no problems preventing the use of the program. Messaging and music player are not recognized in the applications menu, but we can add them manually.
It also lacks the ability to organize the applications menu … and customizable wallpapers (because it's really ugly :( )
