About a month ago, Blog-N97 reported about a new game developer, Polarbit, who appeared in the Ovi Store with 4 Symbian games optimized for touchscreens: Raging Thunder (also available for S60 3rd Edition), Toon Warz, Armageddon Squadron and Wave Blazer. At the time, the games were priced between 2€ and 3€ and few people got excited to download them although they seemed to offer a superior quality versus Java games.

But this isn’t a problem anymore as I saw that these games have gone absolutely free while browsing the Ovi Store yesterday on the Nokia X6 to check for new applications and games for Symbian^1. You can head over to Polarbit’s publisher page on the Ovi Store in order to get them. Here’s a video of the games so you get an idea of what they’re like:

As you see, the games quality is really nice, and they support both accelerometer controls as well as touchscreen controls. I’ve only started playing Raging Thunder on the X6 and the fast graphics coupled with a super easy touch control over the capacitive display is a real killer. It’s been a while since I’ve enjoyed a Symbian game this much and I’m pretty sure the other games will be just as good.
Have you been playing these Polarbit games on your Symbian device? If so, what’s your favorite one and what do you think of the quality?
