Can SBSH Calendar be sycronised with Google Calendar? If not would like to see that feature on future release.

  • Aatif

I like how softwares like this give me the push to actually try and organize my life :P

  • Kaya

This sounds so awesome. I hope I am able to win

  • Kaya

I think for it to sync with all the google calendars and not just your main one that would be awesome.

Something small… When working with a qwerty keyboard i would really appreciate to have keyboard shortcuts for being able to switch between daily/weekly/monthly view at any time. To for example, when adding a new appointment (but i don’t know if this is possible, maybe with a split-screen-like view when adding items instead of the separate form?), quickly get an overview of the whole week/day to double-check the date or hour and then switch back to finalize the appointment.

  • Jacek Walinski

I wish it had slicker UI.

  • franktik

Looks incredible but a version for S60v5 is highly anticipated. I got over 10 years of data on Palm platform. Any possibility of support or porting of those data over to Nokia 5800 XM?

  • uamadei

I’d like a grid weekly view, as the MS Outlook view, where I may see every appointment in a glance, may be drag and drop it to a new day.

  • Ofir Levy

    1. Multiple calendars support
    2. A unique homescreen widget able to show more information that the system widget

    more cowbell !

  • http://twitter.com/ bryanflurry

Not really necessary but it would be cool though to sync past checkins with foursquare or gowalla and see it neatly organized in the calendar :)

  • LRJ

I’m been using Handy Calendar for a while now but the update to this one seems interesting. I would have loved to see them add a little more eye candy though.

  • Greenbat

I would like to have a family planner in the program!

  • arjunpar

wow, it has got google calendar support.
    What about Outlook support.

  • Sven

I really miss a (daily) view which shows overlapping entries
in a visual way. This is the only ‘outlook’ feature that I really miss.

    brilliant, good stuff
I'd like to see outlook and Google calendar synchronization
I can't imagine what should be added.
I am keen to win a license.

  • fabioh

This is a great software. It will be a great idea to import calendar extensions and google calendar.

  • ZeDestructor

@arjunpar: Outlook integration is there (MS Exchange Sync)

I'd like Google Calendar sync option though. The way tasks are calendar items are integrated and month view are so much better than Nokia's version, definitely an app to keep :)

Looking forward to trying the new SBSH Calendar. Improvements needed. #1 Better name. #2, needs a facelift, still looking Palm OS-ish, when we should be pushing toward Web OS-ish or dare I say iPhone-like. I feel the current calendar is too cluttered. But still one of the better calendar offerings for Symbian OS.

  • brianb1

Looks a very useful application. Some of these functions came as standard on my last samsung phone so it came as a disappointment when switching to a Nokia for the first time a little over a year ago. A comprehensive address book and diary should come as standard, particularly a high end phone.

  • misim16

So far I really like this app and it seems like a great addition to my E72. I especially like being able to show only tasks due today in the tasks list (something I've been missing since switching from my Palm Centro). And the ability to customize EVERYTHING is great too.

    Here's what I would change:

    Usability:
*Add default keyboard shortcuts for each of the views that work from anywhere in the application (like in the Nokia Calendar app).
*Add the ability to define custom keyboard shortcuts.
*Make the layout of the the Grid view dynamic so that the selected day expands to show additional entries without having to switch to the day view.

    Appearance:
*Add the ability to save visual themes; there's a way to load themes and reset defaults, but I couldn't find any way to save custom user-created themes.
*Create theme directory either online or via the app to allow users and theme developers to share custom themes.

    Other:
*Add integration with Ovi Maps (especially in light of Nokia recent announcement and the emphasis on location-aware services).
*Add integration with either Notes or Active notes.
*Update the user guide for version 1.5 to help users get the most out of the new features.

Version that supports 5th edition touch devices should be out by March :)

  • Sven

What I really miss is a (daily) view which shows overlapping entries in a visual way.
(This is the only outlook feature that I really need – and can't be found in any calendar software for S60 – as far as I know)

  • Tiago Bugarin

There are 2 features I miss in calendaring applications for S60: Brasilian Portuguese and *real* Google Calendar syncronization.
The later is the case that I do not want to buy a calendar software and have it only able to sync with my main agendas through a paid third-party website. OK, 12 month for £5,99, I get it, but still.
Nokia and Nokia’s third-party developers are dropping the ball for me. Too much hardware releases, not that much firmware releases, bad software, absense of features that matters, bad UI, bad software roadmap, bad firmware roadmap (if any at all).

Sorry, I am a bit too much sad here but I am sad about my mobile phone relationship within the imminent future.

  • Cosmo

Outlook support would be great, and some more nicer looks, but that’s not really important :)

  • massica

very nice apps. have used for years before and was always happy. then i gone to WM and now
back to nokia E55. now if i win a free license i were very happy. Thanks a lot

  • emubba

I’m not familiar with this app, but I’d imagine if it’s a built in client replacement, it has to be pretty decent.
Does it support all the behavior that the built in client does? (Alarms, home screen notifications, MFE sync?) If so, I’d be tempted to try it. One of the annoyances with my current e71 cal app is that it’s pretty slow to respond, and the week view doesn’t really allow a view of everything in the horizontal view I like. Of course, the screen is tiny…so its hard to get it all.

    Cheers!

  • Christian

Hello, I think the overall look is too confusing. Too many icons on such a small screen. Hard to make out on first sight which one is the next important appointment.
Also would like to see shortcutzs as in Nokias main calendar.

  • http://soulexperimentation.blogspot.com/ igudov

I'm using Handy Calendar, and so far I am satisfied. Looking at the screenshots of SBSH calendar, I might give it a try. Looks a bit more powerful, than what I currently use. Thanks!

  • ZeDestructor

While I agree that Nokia's Firmware Development has been rather lackluster for less popular devices, ever since they open-sourced Symbian to the Symbian Foundation, roadmaps have been looking good, and as for your UI gripes they should be adressed by Symbian^4 at latest, with the first improvements in Symbian^2 and Symbian^3 (s60v5 is Symbian^1 btw). Being open-source I also believe that users will start posting custom ROMs with improved features by themselves, similar to what happens with most HTC devices

Thanks everyone who entered. So sorry it took so long to announce the winners. There were 23 legitimate entries, so we took 5 random numbers from 23 using http://andrew.hedges.name/experiments/random/

misim16, uamadei, JuBaZ, massica, and igudov are our winners! If you guys could shoot an email to guru@symbian-guru.com, we'll get you setup with your free license.

  • Suitor

    Great app
So where is the serial key? someone please fix this, you shouldn't need to pay for this.

  • http://www.rickycadden.com Ricky Cadden

SBSH Calendar is a commercial app – several developers spent lots of hours building it and fixing bugs – if you like it, I would encourage you to purchase it. Your money helps them pay for things like rent and whatnot.
