Going off previous successes, Forum Nokia is hosting yet another Calling All Innovators contests, this one with 4 categories and a host of new, ‘special’ prizes up for grabs, in addition to the standard first, second, and third places. If you’re not familiar with it, Forum Nokia’s Calling All Innovators contests are a great opportunity for developers to challenge themselves to create awesome applications for Symbian-powered smartphones, with awesome prizes, too.
This year, the categories are Eco/Being Green, Entertainment, Productivity, and Life Improvement. The grand prize is $30k USD in cash, second prize is $15k USD, and third place gets $5k USD. Each category will have a first, second, and third place winner, and these winners also have the opportunity for additional prizes, including Spotlight placement on the Ovi Store and special assistance from Forum Nokia, among other cool stuff.
This year, Forum Nokia added a few ‘special’ prizes, to make things a bit more fun. These are:
- Best mobile computing application: $50k (USD) in cash, plus inclusion in a multi-million dollar global marketing campaign.
- Best application for the Nokia N900: $50k (USD) in cash.
