Overall this widget seems to work well on my i8910. I did encounter one rather odd bug at first though.

After the program asked for permission to connect to the internet and I said yes, it kept trying to connect via “Linksys,” the only WiFi network I had saved at the time. The program skipped the step in which it would normally ask for a particular destination, and instead just decided to try the “Linksys” access point automatically. I could not choose another method of connecting. Strangely enough I have never encountered this problem in any other programs. Stranger still, I had an active 3G connection already, and I wasn't within range of any WiFi networks. Even after restarting the phone, problem persisted. Eventually I deleted “Linksys” from my “Internet” destination and IMDB allowed me to select a connection like it should have in the first place. I was able to recreate “Linksys” without the bug returning. Rita, you were a Beta tester for this widget, right? Did you encounter anything like this?

I haven't seen any other problems with the IMDB Widget. It's a nice app, I just wish I didn't take so long for me to get it working at first. Oh and if anyone was wondering, I was not using a crazy cooked ROM at the time. I'm going with stock Samsung firmware this week :)

Was Linksys set as your default accesspoint in the browser? Because as far as I understand, widgets use the settings from the web browser?

That was my first thought too, but nope. The “Opera download utility” access point was set ask when needed. Anyway the web browser can only be set to a destination, not a specific access point. So even if the S60 browser had been set to use the “Internet” destination, it wouldn't explain why the widget tried to use Linksys when I already had an active 3G connection for “Internet,” and I wasn't within range of any WiFi networks. I've given up on trying to explain the weird things my phone does. I just hope that since I've never seen this bug before it doesn't return.
