The Sony Ericsson Vivaz (and Vivaz Pro) really intrigue me. Aside from an official blog, the company has had little fanfare around these Symbian-powered smartphones, despite their awesome spec sheets. Don’t worry, though - we’re not a Nokia blog, we’re a Symbian blog, and as such, we’ll definitely be covering these handsets as much as possible. We’re also trying to get ahold of Sony Ericsson to get a review unit, so we can do some serious investigation.
In the meantime, we’ll have to rely on other people’s experiences and videos. For starters, the gang at GSMArena.com have put together this short video showing the phone’s custom user interface, which looks really nice. It’s interesting to see how someone other than Nokia have used the Symbian platform, and this is certainly something we hope to see more of in the near future.

As if that wasn’t enough, there’s also a ton of videos on the SEProductBlog’s YouTube channel that were apparently recorded with the Vivaz, showing off the phone’s 720p HD video recording capabilities. We’ve embedded a few below:

Nokia’s first HD-recording cameraphone had better be freakin awesome if they’re going to compete with the likes of this.
