Nokia Messaging For Email Updated To v10.2

Checking out the Software Update on my Nokia N97 Mini, I noticed that there was a new version of Nokia Messaging for Email, v10.2. I was currently running v10.1, so this isn’t a major update, but an update, nonetheless. The install went smoothly and as expected, maintained all my accounts and whatnot.

Just browsing through the client, I do not immediately notice any changes. However, one somewhat important thing I dug up in the settings is that I can no longer select the number of days to see in my inbox. This was originally unlimited, and then a few updates ago limited back to just 3 days. Today’s update removes the option altogether, which is a bad sign, in my opinion.

There still is not a fullscreen view for reading messages, which is something I’ve been hoping for, either. According to the Nokia Messaging team, the update now supports Destinations on S60 5th Edition phones like my N97, and has a few other miscellaneous updates.

I can confirm this is available on the Nokia N97 and N97 Mini, but haven’t checked out any other devices. What phone are you using, and do you see the update in your Software Update application?

    Nokia moved the access point feature from the Settings menu to just within the Tools menu and it is called 'Access point'. Is it me or is WiFi as access point no longer available? I don't see it as an option :( The listed options under Access Point only include Internt, Multimedia msg., WAP services, and Mail.

    Nokia switched to a much smarter access point system with this update. Previously you should explicitly had to select an access point which was preventing auto access point ordering. Now it uses the general access point categories which means it uses the same mechanism that the web browser does. In my situation, first it tries everything WiFi first then and if it cannot find any it automatically drops to 3G without asking any questions which is great IMO.

    Works great on my 5800. Would have been better if there was the option for selecting the number of days to keep items in inbox.

    I saw it on my phone yesterday night. I didn't install it. Now today it's gone from the update list. Anyone know if the update was pulled back??

    To the S60 5th users, if you can't see the NM client update in Software Update, you can get it from http://messaging.nokia.com

    Hi, My N97mini is not showing the update 10.2. I''m trying the Nokia Messaging site but, without success. ( site display the older 10.1V to download). My firmware is RM533/ 11.2.
