It’s been a long time coming, but we finally have an official WordPress client for our Symbian-powered smartphones! The WordPress for Nokia app is still an early alpha and has plenty of bugs, but it works, for the most part.
WordPress for Nokia is built on QT v4.6 currently, and is also available for Maemo 5 powered devices like the Nokia N900.
Currently you can manage your comments, posts, and pages, as well as create new posts right from your phone. As you can see, you can also add photos to posts, though there are no advanced functions such as being able to align images. You’re also stuck with a raw HTML editor for composing your posts, which makes entering links a real hassle.
However, I have no doubt that the developers will continue to improve the stability and features along the way. Yo can keep up with the updates yourself at http://dev.nokia.wordpress.org.
Are you a mobile blogger? What features would you like to see implemented in WordPress for Nokia?
This post was written entirely on my N97 Mini – the only desktop editing I did was to make the link above clickable.
