PocketLock (as almost every other SBSH software) is still inmature and not very good coded, let´s recap in my N97 mini:

    a. No matter if you disabled auto start, the main screen of PocketLock appears when you start your phone.

    b. If you exit the app, you cannot open it until restart the phone.

    c. Using the phone with the keyboard open is a pain in the a.., everytime you move your left hand near the top rows the screen went off.

So what? Go for PhonePhreak PocketSensor, everything works as expected (also when you open the keyboard PocketSensor is smart enough to not switch off the display). Cons? Is not free…

Want free? Go for MyKeyLock (not only a “pocket sensor”, tons of features), again Cons? You must sign it.

    Hi Juan,
    A couple of points:

@1 I am aware of the small bugs you reported and they are fixed for the next version which I am uploading to the Ovi store this week (including auto-start bug, exit+can't start bug and keyboard bug)
@2 The sensor on the front of the phone is not a light sensor, but a proximity sensor. It has to do with something being close to the sensor or not. Has nothing to do with the light.
@3 Motion sensing (as done with MyKeyLock) uses the accelerometer which drains the battery. PocketLock uses minimal battery (almost non-existent) – check with Nokia Energy Profiler.
@4 13,000 users downloaded PocketLock so far and most are quite happy with it. I'm sure the next version will be even better.
@5 Thanks for taking the time to review it

    Can you make s60v3 version?

Thanks for pointing out some of your experiences.

    a. It's true that the main screen of PocketLock pops up when starting your phone however that is also the case with other applications I've seen. This is however fairly common in different applications and it's there for ease-of-use.

    b. Similar thing happened to me but only when I disabled autostart. (N97 classic)

    c. This did not happen to me.

Great to see that other applications such as PhonePhreak PocketSensor and MyKeyLock can do some of the same things. However they tend to be more complicated in terms of functions.
I would say that PocketLock excels here in terms of out-of-the-box usage and experience and at the same time being very small in size and usage on resources which is something crucial for me at least.

Thanks for pointing out some of the differences between MyKeylock and PocketLock especially in terms of the sensor. As I replied to Juan it did not happen to me that the screen went black when using my keyboard (N97) hence I believed it was a light sensor.

Any chance of seeing a s60v3 release?

It's not really the darkness that locks it. The PocketLock uses the proximity sensor and not the front camera.

Well, I can't confirm that it uses “minimal” battery power.
Using PocketLock cut down the standby time of my N97 to (almost less than) one day. Uninstalling it brought me back to the usual 2 – 3 days, which leads me to the assumption that PocketLock sucks power like hell.

@Roy Weinberg I downloaded v1.01 from Ovi Store contrary to the reviewed v1.0. Can I please know what is the difference between the two versions? Thank you.

    Hi,

Unfortunately these applications are not ours but from a different company and therefore we won't be able to help you with this issue :/

You will need to contact the support team of that specific company to get this information.

Please let me know if there is anything else that I can help you with.

We appreciate your support of SBSH products! :)
